Job Description:

McArthur Recruitment are looking for reliable social welfare professionals to work on a casual roster across metro Melbourne. Suitable staff will be primarily required to work in residential settings and provision of general support and assistance to children and families.

This is a great opportunity for committed and passionate candidates as well as graduates with prior sector experience and human services applicants within the child welfare field who are looking to develop their skills working with children and young people across a range of leading service providers. Opportunities to work within child protection, drug and alcohol support, mental health, crisis accommodation and youth based residential care.

What we are looking for:

  • Suitable applicants will need to be experienced with children and young people from 0-18 years of age
  • Be punctual, reliable and responsible and have appropriate experience and knowledge of child welfare and child protection services
  • Proven experience in either; out of home care, residential, child protection, youth work or similar
  • Display excellent communication skills, including the ability to engage well with young people and work collaboratively with other staff and professionals
  • To be open and flexible with a variety of shifts and the capacity to adapt in a changing environment
  • Experience working with Alcohol & other Drugs clients
  • Highly developed communication and presentation skills and proven ability to work with a range of people and organisations

Hours are flexible and varied (Stand-up and sleepover shifts included)

MINIMUM AVAILABILITY 3 DAYS PER WEEK ESSENTIAL

Suitable applicants must have:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Youth Work and/or related behavioural sciences at degree level
  • Minimum 12 months case management or sector related experience
  • Current WWCC
  • Victorian Drivers Licence
  • Current Police Check (or willing to undertake) & International Police Check if required
