About the Role
We are offering an exciting opportunity for an Allied Health Assistant to join our growing team in our therapy building in Bundaberg.. We are looking for a highly motivated person that is committed to teamwork and a vision of excellence in evidence-based care.
Our current team consists of a Physiotherapist, two Speech and Language Pathologists, two Occupational Therapists, and a Dietician
Position Reports to:
- The Allied Health Assistant reports to the Chief Executive Officer
- For clinical and day-to-day supervision and support regarding case load and key tasks, the AHA will report directly to a nominated Allied Health Professional within the team
Job Purpose
- To deliver direct clinical assistance to clients as delegated and supervised by the treating Allied Health Professional.
- To assist Health Professional staff with clinical, administrative and customer service needs, and the maintenance and management of equipment and supplies.
Core Duties
- Deliver routine clinical services under the direction and delegation of the Health Professional and in line with the Centre’s Model of Practice
- Undertake routine clinical tasks within clinical protocols and delegation guidelines and work under Health Professional clinical practice supervision
- Develop clinical practice knowledge and expertise through active learning within the team and by engaging in professional development activities and VET sector training (as appropriate)
- Deliver administrative and customer services and support with increasing proficiency as experience builds
- Collaborate effectively within Allied Health Centre team and with clients to promote and contribute to quality service provision and effective outcomes
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of governance systems, including identifying and addressing risks
- Provide supervision to less experienced allied health assistants
- Professionally represent CLS to its clients and the broader community in all interactions and in line with CLS’s values and Code of Conduct.
Key Selection Criteria
- Must have undertaken (or be willing to undertake) a Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance.
- This position involves manual tasks and assistance. Applicants will be expected to cope with the physical demands of this position, and must be willing to undertake pre-screening activities prior to employment.
- There will be the requirement for travel within the community.
- Current Driver’s Licence (C-class)
- Applied First Aid (or ability to acquire)
- Be eligible for or hold a Working with Children Blue Card
Be eligible for or hold a Positive Notice Card Yellow Card - Ability to navigate, apply and adhere to CLS policies and procedures, including Workplace Health and Safety and Risk Management Procedures.
