The Opportunity
Based in Darwin or Alice Springs, this is a great opportunity for a leader who is genuinely passionate about achieving an integrated, primary health care system across the Northern Territory.
The Role
This team integrates the functions of the Rural Workforce Agency within the Primary Health Network. Your role will oversight the development and effective implementation of:
- co-design and collaboration with primary health care providers in the commissioning of visiting primary health services to rural and remote communities
- innovative health workforce development strategies including recruitment, retention, education and training initiatives
The Requirements
Our ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Outstanding leadership at a senior level
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a track record in building and sustaining relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander stakeholders and communities
- Strategic thinking, innovation and program management skills
- The ability to work successfully in a fast paced environment
An understanding of the primary health care system and remote workforce issues is desirable. Tertiary qualifications in health or management will also be highly regarded.

Northern Territory PHN (NT PHN) is a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee. Its members include the Aboriginal Medical Services Alliance Northern Territory (AMSANT), the Northern Territory Department of Health and the Associate Membership Committee. NT PHN has a key focus on improving the patient journey and coordination of care between the hospital and primary health care systems and between the broad range of practitioners within the primary health care domain.
