We currently seek an Assistant Duty Manager at our Main Laboratory in Osborne Park.
Reporting to the Laboratory Duty Manager, the main focus of this position is providing outstanding customer service to both internal and external customers.
Key duties include:
- Being a contact for advice on non-clinical matters to doctors, patients, medical centre staff and collection staff
- Troubleshooting and resolving telephone and email complaints
- Using auditing software to review priority doctors, patients and tests requested
- Assist with the facilitation of urgent and priority samples through the laboratory
- Promotion of safe workplace practices and procedures and assisting with work health and safety
Essential;
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a private pathology laboratory
- Bachelor Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent degree with subjects relevant to the field of pathology
- Strong proven interpersonal and communication abilities
- Professional telephone manner to handle customer complaints while remaining calm, focussed, professional and pleasant
- Ability to multi-skill and work quickly and efficiently under pressure
- Demonstrated ability to maintain and build relationships within and across teams
- Ability to relate effectively to customers at all levels
- Computer literate with working experience of laboratory information systems as well as Microsoft products
Desirable;
- Skills and knowledge across the entire pathology process
- AIMS recognised qualification
Hours for this position are 76 hours per fortnight working Monday to Friday with rotating shifts of either 7.30am to 3.30pm or 10.00am to 6.00pm.
