Continuing our growth is the exciting new acquisition of Garrison Support Services for the Australian Defence Force (ADF). We are seeking applications from suitably qualified health professionals to provide medical services to ADF bases across NSW.

These roles will be offered initially for a contract period of two (2) years, commencing as soon as possible. Our workforce is made up of permanent full time, permanent part time and casuals.

Medical Officer | GP Trainer | Aviation Medical Officer | Underwater Medical Officer

The Medical Officer is responsible for the delivery of medical services to Defence personnel in accordance with professional standards, legislation, and Defence Policies and Procedures. The medical practitioner will be required to provide medical technical advice to the Health Centre Manager, Regional Health Director and Commanders of health and other units. The Services may be provided in an outpatient setting, or may involve inpatient care such as in a hospital or medical centre

To be successful you will:

Essential:

  • Be an Australian Citizen
  • Hold or have ability to hold a baseline clearance
  • Full and unconditional registration as a medical practitioner in Australia with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Authority (AHPRA);
  • A Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP), Fellow of the College of Rural and Remote Medicine, Vocational Registration (VR) or equivalent suitable experience and training as assessed by CJHLTH;
  • Evidence of involvement in an appropriate quality assurance and continuous professional development / continuous medical education program provided by a recognised training provider;
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training/qualification or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years post graduate practitioner experience.

Desirable

  • Completion Early Management of Severe Trauma (EMST) course or equivalent;
  • Fellowship of, or undertaking studies towards  fellowship of one or more of the following:
  • Royal Australian College of Medical Administrators;
  • Faculty of Public Health Medicine, RACP;
  • Faculty of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, RACP;
  • Australian College of Sports Physicians;
  • Qualifications and experience in Aviation Medicine; or
  • Qualifications and experience in Underwater Medicine.
  • Previous experience working with the Australian defence force
