GP | Singleton

International SOS provides clinical staff to the Australian Defence Force (ADF) across NSW & ACT. Our employees play a vital role in ensuring our Airforce, Army and Naval personnel are both physically and mentally equipped to protect our country. These on-base roles are both highly rewarding and challenging.

What will you do?

  • Acute "Sick Parade" consultations

  • GP consultations, referrals, health screenings and liaison with allied health professionals;

  • Minor surgery involving local anaesthesia only and that is superficial in nature and mainly on the periphery of the body (refer to section below);

  • Provision of occupational health services and preventative health care in accordance with Defence Policies and Procedures and as clinically indicated.

  • Emergency medical responses;

  • Conduct of occupational medical and health assessments for all Entitled Personnel to determine employability and deployability of Entitled Personnel. These assessments include:

  • periodic health examinations (PHE) in accordance with Defence Policies and Procedures;

  • medical employment classification reviews (MECR);

  • Pre and post-deployment health assessments; and

  • Other medical and health examinations.

  • Provision of health testing for Entitled Personnel as clinically or administratively required;

  • Manage patients in accordance withbest practice clinical standards;

 

What do you need to apply?

Looking after the health of our Defence Force, and proactively managing health issues is paramount! In order to do so, we require our applicants to:

 

  • Full and unconditional registration with (AHPRA);

  • FRACGP, FACRRM or VR 

  • Two years post graduate GP experience; medical support or emergency medicine experience

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training/qualification or equivalent

  • Australian Citizenship
