Reporting to the Residential Services Manager and the Care Manager, you will participate in the implementation of policies and practices consistent with Southern Cross Care's strategic plan and organisational values, as well as the legislation on nursing practice in
Residential Aged Care Services. You’ll orient, educate and supervise direct care staff; assess, document and meet complex nursing needs and search for ever better ways to look after people in our care.
As a motivated Level 2 Registered Nurse, with a minimum of 2 years’ experience and a current AHPRA Registration, you have strong clinical skills and knowledge and adopt a collaborative approach. Your expertise will help you ensure all care plans are up to date. You will ensure medical intervention when required.
You love autonomy and teaching while learning yourself. Your listening, communication, team building and time management skills are exemplary. You will relish the opportunity to be part of the succession plan and progress your career.
You will ensure new staff receive a proper orientation and will contribute to the identification of training needs of care staff. You will also undertake staff appraisals and will inform the Care Manager of any performance issues.
You have a sound knowledge of ACFI and demonstrated experience in leading direct care staff, assessments and care-planning processes. You must be flexible with and be willing to work early and late shifts
