The Role:
We are currently looking for a Senior Obstetrics and Gynaecology Registrar to join a team of:
3 FTE Consultants
2 Senior Registrars
6 RMO
The Maternity Unit consists of 16 antenatal and/or postnatal beds and four birth suites. It is attached to a level-two Special Care Nursery. On average, there are 850 births per annum and approximately 60% of these births are from Aboriginal women.
The role offers an attractive salary with on-call and relocation allowances.

The Hospital:
The Hospital is a 189 bed Hospital that services the Red Centre of Australia, it is the only acute secondary care service for 1500km in any direction and more than 60% of admissions are Aboriginal people often from remote communities.
The hospital provides the following services: Day Procedure, Emergency, Intensive Care and High Dependency, Maternity, Medical, Outpatients, Paediatric, Special Care Nursery, Surgical and Mental Health, plus arrange of clinical support services.
It is also accredited with the Australian Council of Healthcare Standards and has links to many external research organisations.
The Location:
A thriving, spirited outback centre, a location that is as famous for the personality of its locals and contemporary and traditional art as the natural wonders.
An intriguing place that host's a jam-packed calendar of festivals, celebrations and quirky events throughout the year.
Hike, climb and cycle you way through the chasms, craters and sacred Aboriginal sites of the MacDonnell Ranges, or four-wheel drive the expansive Simpson Desert in the southeast.
Travel west to the Finke Gorge National Park for the desert oases of Palm Valley and Finke River, or head north to Halls Creek and Gem Tree. Rainbow Valley, to the south, reveals a shifting palette of sandstone colours throughout the day - a photographer's dream.
The town has a resident population of 28,000 and regional population of 55,000, the average age of people living in Central Australia is 32 years, with only 5% being over the age of 65 year's.
Skills & Qualifications required:
Eligible for registration with AHPRA
Good verbal and written skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
With extensive clinical experience n O and G, you will bring current knowledge and skills to the Department.
