Our practice is recruiting a motivated and experienced dental assistant to join our high-end general dental practice on Sydney’s lower north shore.  We are an established dental practice of over 30 years and are leaders in our area for providing high quality dentistry.  Our comprehensive range of services includes: restorative dentistry, cosmetic crown and bridge, dental implants, orthodontics, dental hygiene, IV sedation and dentofacial aesthetic injections to name a few.  We work in a purpose built and Levitch designed dental practice with state of the art equipment and materials.  We are dedicated to ongoing team building and training, to achieve our core business vision and goal of providing optimum oral health for all patients. 

Core Responsibilities:

• Chairside dental assisting for all general dental procedures within our practice procedures and protocols.  Restorative, orthodontic, cosmetic and paedodontic skills are considered essential.
• Responsible for the smooth running and organisation of their dentist’s daily schedule.
• Developing and maintaining relationships with patients.
• Maintaining and implementing the highest standards of infection control.
• Liaising with the administration department and the General Manager to ensure excellent patient care and smooth running of the practice.
• Coordination of laboratory work with external dental labs.
• Team work with other dental assistant colleagues in various practice duties, which may include simple lab work (pouring models, making whiting trays/splints), clinical or management projects. 

The Successful Applicant:

• Cert III or IV in Dental Assisting (this role is unsuitable for untrained DAs).
• Be a passionate team player, capable of functioning with a high level of autonomy within established policies, guidelines and procedures.
• Demonstrate high levels of responsibility and accountability for their own work.
• Show exemplary organisational skills in both time management and clinical duties.
• Shows an ability to problem solve and add value to the existing team rather than rely solely on others.
• Possess maturity and confidence in communication, interpersonal skills, and conflict resolution skills in high stress situations.
• High levels of computer literacy and possess administration skills including Word and Excel.
• Ideally the candidate is proficient with Oasis software (version 11 or earlier is fine).
• We are a Prime Practice Masters business so completion or familiarisation with Prime Practice training is preferred.
• Knowledge of Oasis Dental Software (an advantage not essential)
• Passionate about a career in dental assisting rather than seeing it as a stop gap for something else. 

What’s on Offer:

• Full-time position (subject to passing the initial 6 months probationary period).
• 4 working days per week (7.30am start to 6pm finish).
• One weekday RDO every week and no weekend work.
• Occasional overtime and flexibility with hours on rare occasions and by prior agreement.
• Remuneration is well above Level 5 Health Professionals and Support Services Award (2010).
