Are you seeking a role that promotes work-life balance and rewards dedication?
An opportunity has become available for a Senior Clinical Coder to join our Health Information Services team at Gold Coast Private Hospital. Your excellent time management and organisational skills, along with considerable clinical coding experience will ensure your success in this position.
As a Clinical Coder your responsibilities will include:
- Timely and accurate assignment of ICD-10-AM and ACHI codes for a range of specialities in accordance with Australian Coding Standards
- Participate in case mix analysis, education & quality activities
- Clinical documentation improvement initiatives
- Participate in audits as necessary
- Collection and reporting of data for use in Clinical Indicators and evaluation of services
- Liaising with clinical staff with respect to documentation requirements and deficiencies
Don’t pass up the opportunity to work for Gold Coast Private Hospital in the Gold Coast Health and Knowledge Precinct. Our 284 bed facility opened March 2016. We support the Gold Coast Community for all Acute Medical and Surgical Services, Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Cardiac.
Essential Criteria:
- Successful completion of a recognised Clinical Coding course or Bachelor of Health Information Management or equivalent
- Up-to-date and thorough knowledge of Australian Coding Standards and Coding Conventions using current edition of ICD-10-AM and ACHI
- Experience coding in a multidisciplinary facility
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Commitment to working in a team environment
- Outstanding customer service skills and professional presentation
Desirable Criteria:
- Sound Knowledge of private sector funding models
- Demonstrated understanding in WebPAS patient information system
- Experience with 3M codefinder software
