About Us

In NSW & ACT, four people are diagnosed with diabetes every hour. Diabetes NSW & ACT is a member-based charity dedicated to people living with or at risk of diabetes. We support a growing community of nearly 50,000 members, and administer the National Diabetes Services Scheme (NDSS) to nearly 420,000 people living with diabetes in NSW and the ACT. Our priority is their health and wellbeing. We support them to better live their lives by running events, providing education and information services, a dedicated Helpline and community networks.

The Role

Reporting to the Product Development Manager, and covering the Sydney Metro region, the primary purpose of the Health Awareness Co-ordinator role is to increase awareness of Diabetes NSW & ACT and the role of NDSS and in particular the programs, services and resources provided to the health professional community in NSW.

Some of the other responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Collaborate in the development of the annual Plan for NDSS Health Professional Awareness in NSW & ACT
  • Contribute to the development of resources/promotional material for HP awareness of the NDSS and an evaluation format
  • Complete monthly reporting for NDSS KPIs
  • Deliver NDSS awareness to health professional groups including GP practices (GP and Practice Nurses), diabetes centres, Primary Health Networks and community centres, allied health groups such as podiatrist, optometrists
  • Attend, present and organise displays at relevant conferences and events where requested
  • Promote Health Professional Membership of Diabetes Qualified in all target groups

About You

  • Proven sales experience within the health industry and ability to work to KPI's
  • The ability to build  and maintain strong customer relationships both internally and externally
  • The ability to work autonomously and be flexible in meeting deadlines and managing competing priorities.
  • Experience in delivering presentations to large audiences
