Fixed Term Position - 12 months (August 2018 to August 2019)
Hours per week - up to 7 hours (2 Sessions per week)

The Women’s is Australia’s leading independent specialist hospital for women dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of women of all ages and cultures, and new born babies. The Women’s is recognised as a leader in its field, with expertise in maternity services and the care of newborn babies, gynaecology, assisted reproduction, women’s health and cancer services.

The Imaging Centre provides a tertiary, complex integrated Radiology and Ultrasound service to patients. Our diagnostic imaging centre houses two highly specialised units, Radiology & Gynaecology/Obstetric Ultrasound.  We provide high level complex, primary through quaternary care to both inpatients and outpatients of the Royal Women’s Hospital.  We also provide gynaecological and obstetric procedures for those patients referred from other health care providers seeking tertiary imaging and diagnoses.

The Women's Ultrasound Service is a highly specialised Obstetric and Gynaecological ultrasound service offering, Amniocentesis, CVS, Fetal Blood Sampling, IUT procedures as well as gynaecological procedures including Cyst Aspiration and Saline Infusions.

The Women’s Ultrasound Service provides the following highly specialised services:

Pregnancy screening for early pregnancy complications
Down screening – diabetics and twins
Abnormality scanning
Growth scanning
Tubal assessments 
Obstetricians with advanced skills and training in ultrasound provide a tertiary diagnostic service and specialist ultrasound guided procedures, in the Ultrasound Department.

An opportunity has arisen for specialists who hold FRANZCOG to become part of the Ultrasound service.  This position is open for all those who are Certified ultrasound specialists and who have obtained COGU, MFM or DDU (highly desirable). 

This position is responsible in collaboration with the Clinical Directors/Heads of Unit/Team Leaders for:

*     Providing high quality clinical services
*     Play an active role in training registrars and resident medical officers and participate in the teaching of medical students and other health care trainees attached to the Women's Services

Your duties will include the following:

*     Direct Clinical care
*     Quality and Accreditation
*     Standard Responsibilities as per the Organisational Directives (includes awareness and work in accordance with RWH policies and procedures, including OHS, EEO and Confidentiality and ensuring staff under direct supervision are working within
       these guidelines.  
*     Will include other duties as directed consistent with the employee’s skill level and classification.

To be successful within this role you will need to have:

*     Eligibility for specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia
*     Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists
*     Obstetricians with advanced skills and training in ultrasound provide a tertiary diagnostic service and specialist ultrasound guided procedures, in the Ultrasound Department.

The Classification and Salary scale will be dependent on experience and you will be appointed and in accordance to the AMA Victoria – Victorian Public Health Sector Medical Specialists Enterprise Agreement 2013 (*) and its successor Agreement – AMA Victoria – Victorian Public Health Sector – Medical Specialists Enterprise Agreement 2018-2021.
