About the company
Our client is successful Australian Biotechnology company who are committed to translating recent advances in disease susceptibility genetics to clinically useful commercial assays for patient risk assessment and management activities.
About the opportunity
The Laboratory Director is responsible for the overall operation and administration of the laboratory, including maintaining compliance with the applicable regulations, including the following - Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) and New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) Clinical Laboratory Evaluation Program (CLEP). In addition, you will be responsible for providing consultation to customers and clinicians.
Responsibilities
- Recruitment of qualified and experienced laboratory staff
- Maintenance of quality systems and controls
- Regular liaison with customers and healthcare professionals
- Manage scientific and technical operations of lab
- Ensure equipment is maintained and compliant
Skills and Experience
- Medically qualified with current licence to practice in Victoria, Australia
- Previous experience in managing a laboratory that performs highly complex testing
- Current NYSDOH qualification
- Strong analytical skills
- Be flexible and adaptable
- Be available for on call work
- Ability to travel both locally and abroad as required
