Seeking an experienced Social Worker or Psychologist to provide support in a forensic residential setting

Your new company
This organisation were established to support prisoners to find housing, employment and stop their offending behaviour. They provide life changing programs for people in or at risk of entering the criminal justice system.
Their aim is create a safe and inclusive community freed of crime and prisons by reducing re-offending and with the view to help people transition from prison, assist them in the community and intervene to divert others committing crime.

Your new role
As a Forensic Residential Worker your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a case load of medium to high risk clients
  • Adapt to the individuals requirements of each clients' needs
  • Making connections with new clients
  • Developing individual case management plans
  • Provide guidance and support to clients in the pursuit and achievement of their individual goals
  • Maintain case notes and associated administration
  • Build community service networks to support role delivery



What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this position you will:

  • Have a minimum of a diploma level qualification in the following: Social Work, Justice, Psychology, Community Services, Welfare Studies.
  • Approved National Criminal Record check, DWES check and Working with Children Check and current First Aid qualifications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Competency in PC-based office applications
  • Experience developing support plans and goal attainment strategies
  • Strong negotiation, conflict resolution, communication and mediation skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships and communicate with people of diverse backgrounds and abilities
  • Knowledge and competency in casework practices
  • Demonstrated capacity to work flexibly, processing the ability to manage competing demands, and able to effectively set boundaries and limits where required
  • Ability to act appropriately in a crisis and seek support from line management in line with organisational policies and procedures.
