About Department
The Operating Suite has 12 Operating Theatres that complete a wide range of surgical procedures including cardiac, vascular, neurosurgery, urology, general, ENT, plastics and reconstructive surgery and orthopaedics. We are a busy unit and are staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
About the Role
An opportunity currently exists for an Associate Nurse Unit Managers (ANUM) to join our team in the Operating Theatre.
The Associate Nurse Unit Manager, in the absence of the Nurse Unit Manager, will administer and manage the professional and operational resources of the unit. The Associate Nurse Unit Manager, under the direction of the Nurse Unit Manager, will be responsible for providing mentoring and leadership to the Nursing Team.
Duties
- Lead and direct nursing staff to ensure a high standard of patient care is delivered in accordance with the values and health care philosophy of the sisters of charity
- Encourage and facilitate staff professional development
- Support the NUM with the daily running of the ward including bed management, staff management and attend relevant meetings
- Ensure incidents are accurately documented and investigated at the time of the incident
- Implement continuous improvement and quality systems
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Degree in General nursing which meets the registration requirements of the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Current Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Post-graduate qualification in Perioperative Nursing
- Management experience would be desirable
