A unique and exciting opportunity exists for a Clinical Nurse to lead and deliver person centred nursing care at an advanced level based on the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia Registered Nurse Standards for Practice.

Alcohol and Other Drug Services multidisciplinary team provides contemporary clinical service for people experiencing substance use problems in a harm minimisation framework. Services provided are Intake and Referral, Consultancy and advice, Opioid Treatment, including Medication-Assisted Treatment of Opioid Dependence, Counselling and Therapy, Needle and Syringe Program.

The Clinical Nurse will provide comprehensive assessment, care and treatment for people identified with alcohol and drug problems, clinical assessment, risk assessment, case management, problem solving and brief intervention and micro-counselling skills.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Assume responsibility and accountability for own actions, standards, and the outcomes of own nursing practice as well as for activities delegated to other nurses and unregulated healthcare workers.
  • Contribute to positive patient outcomes by;
    - providing supervision, coordination and leadership to effectively assess, plan, manage and evaluate patient outcomes at an advanced practitioner level particularly for patients with unpredictable outcomes
    - using evidence based clinical practice that maintains patient safety
    - leading management and coordination of more complex patients
    - facilitating accurate and timely communication to drive effective multidisciplinary team functioning
    - role modelling best practice in clinical and professional domains

Remuneration value up to $ 107,262 p.a., comprising salary between $87,796 - $94,010 p.a., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (Nurse Grade 6 (1)) (Permanent full time, 76 hrs p.f.)
