Allied Health, which represents twelve professions, is a rapidly growing and integrated service within Cabrini. Allied Health at Cabrini offers senior consultant and leadership roles; work in clinical streams; a junior staff rotation and support program; professional development and teaching opportunities; and developing strong external and university partnerships. Allied Health led research at Cabrini is supported by a Senior Allied Health Research Consultant.
The role
An exciting opportunity exists for experienced Speech Pathologists to join our weekend and/or weekday casual bank. Successful applicants will demonstrate a strong clinical knowledge in assessment and management of communication and swallowing disorders in the acute setting. They will also demonstrate an ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Key requirements for the role
- Well consolidated and broad post-graduate experience in the hospital setting (min 3 years)
- Experience in the assessment and management of adults with communication and swallowing disorders for a range of etiologies within the acute setting across all acute sites.
- Excellent time management skills and high degree of flexibility
- Well-developed interpersonal skills, which include excellent communication skills
- Commitment to continuing professional development
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to Cabrini’s Mission, Values and Behaviours that Matter and Speech Pathology Australia’s Code of Ethics
- Eligible for Speech Pathology Australia membership and Certified Practising Program
- Working with Children check and Police Check
Desirable:
- Experience with tracheostomy management.
