Karlka Recruiting Group has partnered with a State Government Agency to engage an Mental Health Clinician. This position is located in their busy Penrith office with an initial 6 month contract + potential to extend up to 12 months.
  
About the Role 
The service seeks to decrease trauma symptoms, improve Psychological well being and improve behavioural and emotional functioning for a targeted cohort of children in Out of Home Care (OOHC). We are seeking candidates who are either Psychologists, Occupational Therapists or Social workers.

Duties

• You will provide clinical, professional support to children and young people (0 – 15 year old)
• You will be able to work effectively in a team
• Ensure children and young people’s treatment plans are in place
• Ensure a high standard of clinical record documentation is maintained
• Comply with Governance policies and programs

Requirements/Skills

• Past experience working with the children and young people cohort and/or trauma
• Possess demonstrated knowledge, skills and substantial experience in child and adolescent development and mental health
• Have a demonstrated understanding of the impact of social and cultural factors on family functioning
• Have an advanced level of verbal/written communication skills, analytical and interpersonal skills

Program understanding
Candidates with knowledge of any or all of the following are encouraged to apply

• Trauma Focused Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (TF-CBT),
• Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT),
• Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) and/or
• Tuning into Kids/Tuning into Teens
