We are The Learning Clinic and we are looking for a Behaviour Consultant to join our team; ideally, you’re just quirky enough to be the perfect fit!

If you have clinical experience in the design and delivery of intensive ABA programs for children with autism and are a registered Allied Health professional, we would love to hear from you!

About the role

As a Behaviour Consultant you:

  • have sound knowledge of typical development across the lifespan

  • are proficient in communicating instructions, strategies and ideas with families and therapists.

  • are collaborative and show strong leadership skills within a team.

  • engage professionally and supportively with families.

Behaviour Consultants are responsible for the design and supervision of all clinical aspects of a client’s program from initial program planning until the client graduates from TLC services. This includes individualising a program based on TLC’s comprehensive curriculum, conducting school observations and providing strategies and recommendations, writing progress reports, training families in behaviour support and other necessary skills, training and managing the performance of Behaviour Therapists through clinic meetings, drop ins and collaborative sessions.

Behaviour Consultants also liaise with external providers and stakeholders including childcare and schools, health and allied health professionals and funding sources. Behaviour Consultants develop and maintain a positive and supportive professional relationship with the client and their family throughout their journey with TLC.

About you

  • You have a meaningful understanding TLC’s Core Values and are willing to commit to these values in all interactions with clients, families and team members http://tiny.cc/corevalues

  • You have a current or pending registration as an Allied Health Professional as a Psychologist, Occupational Therapist or Speech Therapist.

  • You have a current working with children check and national police certificate

  • You are passionate about empowering families through support, advocacy and education.

  • You have an enthusiasm for teaching children and/or young adults

  • You have hands-on experience delivering ABA programs for children and young adults with ASD

  • You have clinical experience implementing behaviour analytic procedures, including discrete trial training, incidental teaching, task analysis, natural environment training.

  • You can conduct functional assessments and design function-based behaviour support plans

  • You enjoy working collaboratively and professionally within a team environment

  • You are a great written and verbal communicator, particularly with families and therapists

  • You have a positive attitude and a willingness and desire to learn and develop skills

  • You work independently, have high level attention to detail and organisational skills

  • You motivate, reinforce and engage children, adolescents, families and therapists!
