    The position:
    We are looking for a Paediatric Occupational Therapist, to commence Part time work with the potential to increase to full-time, working alongside our current OT. Many of our clients have Autism Spectrum Disorder, some of whom have motor, behavioural and sensory issues, which require the support of an Occupational Therapist.  

    The position would include providing one on one therapy services, joint speech / OT therapy sessions, both office and school visits, and participating in Social Skills Groups that are run on a regular basis.  

    We are seeking an occupational therapist who ‘gets’ kids and families and knows how to treat them using a combination of developmental and bottom-up approaches to make a meaningful and functional change, not only for the kids, but for their parents and siblings too.  Approaches we favour are based on a combination of sensory integration DIR floor-time.

The person we are seeking will:

  • Have a strong interest in working with children with autism spectrum disorder

 

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

  • Experienced clinician – at least one years’ experience
  • Occupational Therapy Australia Membership
  • AHPRA Registration
  • Private indemnity insurance
  • Access to own transport with a current driver's licence
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to build rapport with clients and families
  • Willingness to work with a paediatric case load
  • Working with Children Check

     

    Remuneration

    Excellent above award remuneration, with 5 weeks annual leave.
