About the role

The Culture & Wellbeing Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and delivery of the Culture, Community and Wellbeing Program. Responsibilities include:

  • leading a team of staff to deliver programs that promote and enable the physical, intellectual emotional, cultural and social wellbeing and independence of our residents;
  • coordinating the fortnightly roster, ensuring staff are allocated to cover absences and in compliance with EBA requirements;
  • working closely with nursing team and allied health professionals to ensure the program accommodates our residents varied interest and abilities throughout their time at Emmy;
  • ensuring documentation is up to date and complies with Quality standards;
  • regular communication with residents, family members and the Emmy community about the program

About you

  • Tertiary qualifications (desirable) directly related to Social Work , Occupational Therapy , Diversional Therapy, Health/Aged Care Industry or Certificate IV in Leisure & Lifestyle or equivalent;
  • Proven track record and expertise in program development and delivering recreational activities, wellbeing programs, music and art therapy, preferably in an aged care environment;
  • Experience working with older people with dementia and high dependency needs;
  • Experience supervising  a team of staff;
  • Highly developed oral and written communication skills and ability to foster effective relationships with staff, residents, family members and external service providers;
  • High level organisational and time management skills;
  • Computer literacy with Aged care software and Microsoft Office suite;
  • Current police clearance certificate and Australian residency or a valid work visa;
  • An understanding of  the cultural diversity, festivals, traditions, religious needs and experiences of older Jewish people is a definite advantage
