Kelly Services is seeking to engage with a qualified and experienced Mental Health Clinician for one of our government based clients in Penrith and Charlestown. Roles include: Psychologists, Occupational Therapists and Social Workers. The successful candidate will be providing service that seeks to decrease trauma symptoms, improve Psychological well-being and improve behavioural and emotional functioning for a targeted cohort of children in Out of Home Care.
Key Accountabilities:
- Provide clinical management and treatment of children and young people in the program under your care.
- Provision of specialist mental health assessment and treatment to children and young people with complex presentations and psycho social needs reflecting a history of developmental trauma
- Working across a diverse range of agencies and non-government providers of Out of
Home Care.
- Working with children and young people who present with complex and chronic mental health, trauma and attachment issues related to their history of abuse and neglect.
- Ensure a high standard of clinical record documentation is maintained. This includes the completion of the clinical records (including medication charts / orders) to reflect clinical decisions and the keeping of appropriate databases up-to-date.
- Ensure compliance with the standards contained within the Australian Council on Health Care Standards Guidelines for Accreditation.
Criteria for Selection:
For Psychologists: Be registered with the Psychology Board of Australia;
For Occupational Therapists:
• Must hold qualifications recognised for registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.
• From 1 July 2012, must hold general registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia
For Social Workers:
• Must hold as a minimum a bachelor degree in social work which provides eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers, or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer.
• hold a current drivers Licence and be willing to travel for work
For ALL ROLES:
- Demonstrated current clinical practice of a high standard and ability to adapt clinical practice in accordance with contemporary evidence based best practice
- Ability to work cooperatively with the staff and practitioners.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong Attention to detail
- Candidate must also have a valid Working With Children license, undergo a WWWC Check and Criminal and Kids Check;
- High resilience required as working with children who has experienced traumatic circumstances may occur
