ALBURY EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT

Administration Officer

Part-time (16 hours per fortnight)

Permanent Ongoing Position

 

Albury Wodonga Health Emergency Department requires an Administration Officer to join the Emergency & Critical Care Administration Team. This is a key role that provides administrative support to the clinical staff in the Albury Emergency Department. 

Primary responsibilities of this role will be to act within the context of a multidisciplinary team to:

  • Provide administrative/clerical support to the Clinical team within the Emergency Department
  • To be a front line point of contact for patients and relatives entering the ED.
  • To complete the processing of admissions, discharges and transfers of patients in the Emergency Department and act as a liaison person for the clinical staff.
  • To have the ability to work as part of a group of staff who cover the department for 24/7 - inclusive of weekends and evenings.

Candidates meeting the following mandatory criteria are encouraged to apply:

  • Ability to work within a team structure in a multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Demonstrated competence in dealing with the public and sound communication skills
  • Proven clerical/administration ability with excellent data entry and computer skills
  • Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of health and safety issues and of OH&S legislation as it relates to “Employee” and “Employer” responsibilities.
  • Ability to develop and implement initiatives of continuous quality improvement within the Employee's designated area of work with a demonstrated customer focussed approach to service delivery.

Salary and conditions of employment will be in accordance with the NSW Health Employees Administrative (State) Award.

Successful applicants will be required to complete appropriate Criminal Record Screening paperwork/processes in order for AWH to meet its obligations regarding screening for serious criminal offences (within and external to Australia).  Applicants unable to commit to this screening process should not submit an application for employment.

Successful applicants will be required to complete mandatory orientation modules using the AWH e-learning system prior to commencing employment.

This is a Category B position.  Successful applicants of Category A positions must provide evidence of vaccination prior to commencement.
