Family Planning Victoria is a leading, not for profit, state-wide provider of sexual and reproductive health care, education and advocacy. Governed by a voluntary board of directors, we have been providing comprehensive sexual and reproductive health services in Victoria for over 40 years.
We provide a range of services which are accessible, culturally relevant and responsive to the needs of the diverse Victorian community. These services include clinical care as well as education and training to help build the capacity of educators and health care professionals working in the sexual and reproductive health sector.
About the role
This position provides counselling and education on an individual and/or group basis to people with disability regarding reproductive and sexual health.
About you
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following key selection criteria:
- Tertiary qualifications Social Work, Counselling or Psychology
- Appropriate registration with the Australian Association of Social Workers, Australian Counselling Association or Psychology Board of Australia
- Demonstrated understanding of issues related to individuals with cognitive disability, particularly regarding reproductive and sexual health
- Demonstrated experience in intake and assessment related to individual counselling
- Demonstrated experience working with professionals and parents and carers supporting people with cognitive disability
- Experience in the delivery of education and support programs to a broad range of groups
- Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage time and resources
- Professional knowledge in the field of sexual and reproductive health (desirable)
- Experience in counselling services in reproductive and sexual health (desirable)
- Certificate IV Training and Assessment or equivalent (desirable)
The incumbent will also be required to undertake and complete a Satisfactory National Police Check.
