Day Surgery is a part of the new expanding Health Specialist Services, which includes IVF and other specialist services across the country. In line with this, we have a new Day Surgery opening in Craigie, 21km north of the city of Perth.
  
The Role:

Due to the opening of our new Day Surgery in Craigie, we are looking for an experienced CSSD Technician to join our exciting new team. Reporting to the Director of Nursing, this role involves cleaning, packing and sterilising instruments and equipment used in Day Surgery procedures.

In order to be successful, you will be committed and passionate about providing high quality patient care, as well as maintaining a professional working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cleaning, washing, packing and wrapping instruments in preparation for sterilisation.
• Decontaminating, sorting and sterilising instruments and anaesthetic equipment in accordance with governing industry standards.
• Organising and assembling surgical instrument trays
• Practicing principles of infection control
• Highly experienced Instrument Technician with current knowledge of all aspects of Sterilising Services and the requirements of AS/NZS 4187
• Relevant recognised Sterilisation qualifications – Certificate III Sterilisation
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Sterilising Services Department (CSSD)

Experience & Attributes:

• Certificate III in Sterilisation
• Capacity to multi-task and prioritise
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Evidence of vaccination/immunity history for Hepatitis B, MMR, dTpa, Varicella and vaccination/screening for TB 
• A proactive approach to problem solving
