The successful candidate will work closely with Clinicians, the Health Information Team and Billings teams and must be flexible with their work schedule.
The Clinical Documentation Specialist will be responsible for:
  • Education on clinical documentation standards and requirement
  • Case Mix reviews and awareness of how this relates
  • Policy Development to health funding arrangement/models
  • Assessing and review of clinical documentation standards within patient medical record, including Medical, Nursing and Allied Health
The Clinical Documentation Specialist will fulfil their role within the hospital with the support of the Clinical Development Coordinator and Director of Nursing.
Essential Criteria:
  • Registered Nurse with greater than 5 years acute hospital experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrated abilities in change management
  • Excellent computer literacy
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Demonstrated skills in accuracy and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the National Standards and Healthscope policies
  • Reliable, mature and consistent work ethic
Desirable Criteria:
  • Experience in clinical teaching
  • Awareness of clinical documentation requirements
  • Knowledge of health fund models
