Forster Private Hospital, part of Healthe Care Australia, is a 69 bed facility offering Medical, Surgical, Rehabilitation and Oncology Services.  Forster is located 2 hours north from Newcastle and boasts extraordinary natural landscapes including beaches, lakes, rivers, with many opportunities for outdoor activities amongst a friendly welcoming community and an enviable climate.  Our facilities include two Operating Theatres and a state of the art Hydrotherapy Pool.  We offer competitive salaries, flexible rostering, free staff parking & professional development support.

We are seeking a Nurse Unit Manager for our 44 bed Medical/Surgical Ward to join our management team. The position would involve:

• Leadership of a clinical team to deliver safe, timely patient focused care to ensure optimal outcomes for all stakeholders
• Create and maintain an environment that is one of best practice and continuous improvement
• Develop strong working relationships with physicians and VMO's
• Maintain effective resource management and develop and monitor efficiency strategies to achieve organisational goals

  Essential Criteria:

• Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent and current registration with AHPRA
• Highly motivated and enthusiastic
• Demonstrated effective management and leadership skills
• Contemporary knowledge of best practice in nursing care
• Be highly accountable and demonstrate a strong, supportive and engaging style
• Be passionate about patient care and achieving high quality clinical outcomes
• Have a strong focus on professional and team development
• Exceptional communication and organisational skills
• Computer proficient

  Desirable Criteria:

• It would also be an advantage to have financial and business management experience and/or a Health management qualification.
