More than 1750 registered nurses are employed by Bendigo Health. There are a range of nursing roles across the group including specialist clinical, general nursing and management roles. Bendigo Health has an active Nurse Practitioner Program to support and develop nurse practitioners and has a range of opportunities for Enrolled Nurses. Bendigo Health offers a range of post-graduate nursing education programs in the areas of midwifery, gerontology, oncology, critical care/emergency, acute care renal, peri operative and psychiatric services. There is also an active continuing professional development program available to all nursing staff.
The profession is led by the Chief Nursing Officer who heads the nurse executive team and is responsible for providing governance for Bendigo Health’s nursing and midwifery workforce.
