The Acute Health Division provides a wide range of general medicine, surgical and sub-speciality services for patients as well as oncology, emergency, women's and children's and critical care. Our Team consists of nurses, medical staff, allied health, administrative and support services working in close liaison.

 

Medical, nursing, allied health and support staff provide services in:

  • Emergency
  • Intensive and coronary care
  • General medicine including endocrinology, gastroenterology, respiratory, cardiology, oncology and nephrology including renal dialysis
  • Anaesthesia
  • E.N.T
  • Facio Maxillary
  • General Surgery
  • Obstetrics & Gynaecology
  • Ophthalmology
  • Orthopaedics
  • Paediatrics
  • Urology

 

The Operating Suite consists of 5 theatres and 1 endoscopy room. Approximately 10,000 procedures are completed each year.  The Women’s & Children’s Services includes not only an Obstetrics & Gynaecology department but also a Paediatric ward and level 2 Special Care Baby Unit; with approximately 1,100 births each year.

The Division of Acute Health is led by Executive Director of Acute Health and supported by Director of Nursing Inpatient and Emergency, Director of Nursing Specialty & Interventional and the Division Business Director.  Two senior medical leadership positions are to be appointed in early 2016.

Department: Children's Ward and Special Care Nursery

Classification: YP2 (Grade 2 Grad Year)

Hours: 64 hours per fortnight
Status: Fixed term for 12 months graduate position
