The Role:

 

The Project Manager for the Increasing AYA Clinical Trial Access Program will work in partnership with the VCCC Clinical Program to implement new administrative and governance processes that remove identified barriers to AYA clinical trial access as outlined in the VCCC Strategic Research Plan (2017-2020).

 

The role requires a proactive and highly motivated individual with experience in regulatory/ethics/governance processes, preferably within the area of oncology, and an understanding of the adolescent and young adult (AYA) population. The incumbent will have excellent relationship building experience and will establish strong working relationships with VCCC Clinical Trial Program Managers to support and add value to their work in this area.

 

The succesful candidate:

  • Tertiary higher degree in a relevant discipline
  • Cancer research / clinical trials experience
  • Experience in regulatory/ ethics/governance processes
  • Experience in managing relationships and collaborations including with senior academics, clinicians and researchers and other senior stakeholders
  • Experience in the health and medical research and/or healthcare sectors with a demonstrated understanding of:
    • AYA system-level opportunities and barriers for optimal integration of research, education/training and clinical care
    • Mechanisms that govern health and medical research, professional development of healthcare professionals, clinical trials and the use of clinical and health data for research
    • Demonstrated experience working independently, as part of a team and in an agreed strategic direction
  • health providers and patients and families in a professional manner.
