The Southport School is an Anglican Day and Boarding school for boys located alongside the beautiful Nerang River with a growing enrolment of 1550 with 310 of those students as boarders.  

We are seeking a candidate who is passionate about adolescent health and welfare and is specialized in pediatric care.  Candidates should have experience in sports injury management, wound care, and other contemporary adolescent health care issues including mental health.

We currently have the following shifts available: Tue & Wed – 1.30pm to 7.30pm.  Additional relief and weekend shifts may be available from time to time at both our Senior and Preparatory School campuses.

The role is primarily responsible for:

• Coordinating, distributing and recording medication daily to student boarders;
• Stock maintenance, controls and ordering of goods and services for the HealthCentre as and when required;
• Maintaining student records – experience with TASS would be advantageous but not essential as training will be provided;
• Compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements;
• Reviewing excursion lists as they relate to healthcare related support and needs and updating medical plans and details as required;
• Promoting and assisting with proactive healthcare initiatives such as immunization, early detection, and promoting healthy habits and practices across the school community; and
• First aid, triage and assessment of students.

To be considered for the role candidates must have:

• Current nursing registration and certification - must be an RN;
• Recent pediatric/adolescent healthcare experience is essential;
• Strong administrative and record management skills;
• Have a demonstrated interest or understanding of male adolescent healthcare and leading health care practices including mental health; and
• Sports first aid and wound care experience.
