Purpose of Position

The position is responsible for the development and management of effective and integrated clinical risk assessment and treatment systems as they pertain to the Drug and Alcohol Diversion & Community Programs. The programs / services that are under this umbrella include the Compulsory Drug Treatment Program (CDTP); the Drug Court Program (DCP); and the Connections Program.

The key principles involved in the development of these systems are that they are

streamlined; sustainable; evidence based and that they reflect current community based

standards.

Selection Criteria

1. Current registration as a medical practitioner with APHRA, with fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Physicians; Chapter of Addiction and/or other specialist recognition as provided for in the Salaried Senior Medical Practitioners Award. 2. Demonstrated extensive clinical experience in the assessment and management of a broad range of Drug & Alcohol health concerns in a range of specialist settings and current authority to prescribe any of the opioid substitution programs or a willingness to obtain authority. 3. Demonstrated experience in and understanding of partnerships with consumers, carers, and health related organisations in the non government and government sector 4. Demonstrated ability for building a strong and cohesive team culture within clinical teams. 5. Demonstrated ability to produce quality reports and publications within requested timeframes and strong computer literacy levels. 6. Demonstrated strong performance in building cohesive professional relationships with relevant stakeholders both internal and external to the team.
