It is a division of NSW Health and provides emergency and non-emergency clinical care, retrieval and specialist patient transport services to a population of over 7 million, delivered by its 4,500 staff through 300 locations across metropolitan and regional NSW. Through its fleet of 1,500 road based vehicles, helicopter operations, fixed wing aircraft, off-road vehicles, snowmobiles and other bespoke rescue options, NSW Ambulance provides comprehensive rapid response services across a diverse range of scenarios and geographical locations. It is a highly complex, geographically distributed organisation with significant multi-stakeholder involvement across its operations, both centrally and locally. NSW Ambulance is now seeking to appoint four high calibre, contemporary leaders to the roles of Deputy Director of Clinical Operations (DDCOs), across multiple geographies in NSW. These are: Northern NSW; Hunter New England; South Eastern Sydney; South Western Sydney. Clinical Operations is responsible for the delivery of front-line pre-hospital care, medical retrieval and health related transport. The DDCO is responsible for the staff and operations of a sector, typically managing over 200 staff and a budget of $40m. Reporting to the NSW Director of Clinical Operations (Sectors), you will: Lead and direct all Ambulance operations within your sector, ensuring the highest levels of service are delivered; Lead, coach and develop all staff including volunteers, on all aspects of Ambulance operations; Develop strategies and programs to improve the operational efficiency of your sector, through astute financial and operational management, and the adoption of global best practice methodologies; Collaborate closely with your peers and partners in the other sectors and create strong relationships with external stakeholders such as local health districts and community groups; Foster a responsive, future focused and contemporary organisational culture which supports staff to deliver true excellence in patient care. To succeed in this role, you'll possess a track record of excellence in operational management gained within a large, complex, customer focused, multi-site organisation, ideally with a time critical, logistics focus. This experience may have been gained within the public or private sector and from a broad range of industries. Experience within a clinical setting, whilst not essential, would be useful. Critical to your success will be your ability to lead, motivate and inspire your team to be the very best within a highly challenging and demanding environment.
