About the Role The Quality Development Manager is principal program lead and the subject matter expert responsible for providing specialised advice for the design, monitoring, analysis and implementation of District-wide quality improvement and strategic change management programs and projects that improve the level of patient care across NBMLHD. This Quality Development Manager is assigned a portfolio that aligns with the strategic direction of the District. The role requires highly developed analytical and project management skills, and an ability to work without direct supervision, reflecting the level of experience and expertise required. It also requires an understanding of complex healthcare issues, including trends in health status, service utilisation, technology, contentious issues and policy at the local and State level. The role is responsible for strategic leadership practices to assist in the achievement of outcomes for excellent service delivery and partner with internal and external stakeholders to enable inter-professional problem solving and innovation that will support a high performing culture. Accountable and responsible for the development and implementation of high level District-wide quality improvement processes and initiatives across including those initiated from the Ministry of Health and Clinical Excellence Commission as well as locally developed initiatives. Responsible to ensure that there are structures and processes in place for the monitoring, analysis and review of clinical quality and serviceimprovement. Ensure that senior staff throughout NBMLHD gain a high level of understanding and the required information and skills to discharge projects to Facilities/Services and to department managers. Develop networks with peers, clinicians, managers, professional bodies, consumers and the broader community to inform and lead discussion on current and future improvement activities. Selection criteria to be addressed: Recognised tertiary qualifications in a health field with relevant registration (if required) and experience, with a track record in quality, safety and clinical risk management Extensive operational and strategic experience in the health care system with the ability to work with minimal supervision Excellent skills in leadership, motivation, self-direction and initiative Proven experience in mentoring, coaching and facilitating interdisciplinary teams and working with senior management Sound knowledge of qualitative and quantitative evaluation strategies to monitor and report on the performance of quality improvement and demonstrated ability to write reports and present findings to inform decision making Highly developed skills and experience in managing and supporting quality improvement projects, preferably state-based programs Excellent interpersonal skills with high level written and verbal communication skills to motivate, consult, negotiate, mentor, build and maintain relationships with managers, stakeholders and consumers Ability to travel in accordance with the requirements of the position Need more information?
