What you'll be doing A Medical Radiation Scientist at this level is expected to assume a responsible role in performing all aspects of radiographic imaging according to departmental and District policies, procedures and guidelines. This role encompasses the optimal service provision of high quality imaging in general and emergency trauma radiography, intra-operative image intensification, mobile radiography, dental and BMD imaging, digital screening, CT, DSA and other services in a PACS environment. In addition, a Medical Radiation Scientist employed under this level must demonstrate knowledge and proficiency in complex clinical procedures. The level 2 Medical Radiation Scientist is expected to participate in the development and upgrading of clinical protocols and techniques. Effective communication skills and a demonstrated commitment to team building, quality assurance and high standards of patient care are expected. Qualifications, licensure and registration with appropriate authorities including: o Bachelor of Medical Radiation Science (Radiation Science) or Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Radiation Sciences)- Medical Radiation Science or qualifications deemed equivalent by CCLHD o Environment Protection Authority NSW o Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) Be able to demonstrate a high level of competency and consistently high standard of clinical practice and decision making. Be able to demonstrate a high level of communication and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to participate in 24 hour shift and on-call roster, and compliance with the emergency after hours call back requirements of the CCLHD. Be able to demonstrate a good level of computer literacy, including familiarity with RIS/PACS systems. Demonstrated proven ability to work in a multidisciplinary team. Demonstrated knowledge, experience and competence in specialised modalities. Demonstrated understanding of how the District is Caring for the Coast and how this role would contribute.
