As part of the Healthe Care Group, Toronto Private Hospital is a 105 bed facility comprising rehabilitation, medical, palliation & mental health services.
A vacancy exists for a Mental Health Nurse Unit Manager to report to the hospital's Chief Executive Officer/Director of Nursing. The successful applicant will be accountable for the clinical direction, governance and operational management of the 35 bed Mental Health Unit. The role also oversees the management and day to day running of the ECT and TMS suite catering to both inpatient and day procedure patients.
Essential criteria:
- Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Minimum 5 years clinical experience within a mental health unit and post graduate qualifications in mental health.
- Strong collaborative interpersonal communication skills with well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
- Sound clinical knowledge and skills.
- Strong leadership capabilities with a track record of effective management and developing staff and building respect among staff at all levels.
- Strong problem solving, decision making, planning and evaluation skills.
- Post graduate qualifications in management or willingness to undergo same.
Desirable criteria:
- Previous private hospital management experience.
- Experience with Borderline Personalities
- Knowledge of health fund contracts.
- Knowledge of HoNOS, DASS and Pex Data
