The Lady Cilento Children's Hospital (LCCH), which opened on 29 November 2014, is Australia's largest and most advanced paediatric facility. Located in South Brisbane, the 359-bed hospital features more than 80,000 square meters of facilities spread across 12 levels.
As Queensland's single specialist paediatric facility, Children's Health Queensland's (CHQ) at the LCCH is the hub of a dedicated network of paediatric services available at other Brisbane and Queensland hospitals. Expanding on CHQ's state-wide remit, the LCCH also supports regional hospitals through telemedicine and outreach services. This means children and young people can access the services they need as close to home as possible.
The hospital precinct includes the Centre for Children's Health Research, the Children's Hospital Foundation, Ronald McDonald House South Brisbane (opened in 2016) and a new Adolescent Drug and Alcohol Withdrawal Service building.
How you can contribute:
The Nurse Researcher will be a joint appointment between CHQ and the Queensland University of Technology (QUT). Within QUT the title of this position will be Senior Research Fellow.The Nurse Researcher will utilise their expert research knowledge and experience to provide high level leadership in establishing Queensland as an exemplar in adolescent and young adult (AYA) research and evaluation.
- Demonstrated leadership in research through an excellent research record, with outcomes such as number of peer reviewed publications and successful grant applications;
- Demonstrated ability to practice collaboratively to promote a positive environment within the multidisciplinary health care team, external academic and research organisations and NGOs to actively contribute to achieve high quality research and improved outcomes;
- Demonstrated effective communication skills and workplace behaviours in all interactions maintaining strong relationships which promote and support CHQ/QUT organisational values to maintain cohesive team networks within and across a variety of health settings;
- Proven ability to design a research plan and conduct analyses using large linked data sets, employing a range of statistical techniques, working independently and under direction.
- Demonstrated ability to provide leadership and mentoring
- Promote a professional and engaging approach to research including knowledge of the National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research, Good Clinical Practice and Guidelines governing clinical trials.
