The Organisation:
RANZCOG is dedicated to the establishment of high standards of practice in obstetrics and gynaecology and women’s health. The College trains and accredits doctors throughout Australia and New Zealand in the specialties of obstetrics and gynaecology so that they are capable of providing the highest standards of healthcare.
  
The Role:
The Office of the President and CEO is small dynamic team that works across all areas of the College. With oversight of the College Constitution, Regulations, policies and procedures, committee terms of reference, consultations, honours and awards, and legal matters, the Office of the President and CEO is a busy hub that is central to the governance operations of the College. Working collaboratively, the team supports the Board, Council, President and CEO in all activities, as well as a number of key committees. The Office is the primary interface between external organisations and the College, with regular interaction with a range of key stakeholders, including government agencies, State Departments and jurisdictional and national health organisations. As the Office is full of activity and fast-paced, the Manager must have the ability to juggle numerous and completing tasks of a complex nature.
  
Your Role:
  • Management of administrative responsibilities and activities of the President
  • Management of administrative responsibilities and activities of the CEO
  • Management of the functioning of activities relating to the RANZCOG Board
  • Oversight of legal, appeals and governance activities
  
Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversight and support to the CEO and President in professional activities to meet a wide range of College responsibilities, including initiating and responding to enquiries and correspondence
  • Oversight of activities of the RANZCOG Board, including:
  • - Board meetings, (preparation of agendas, minutes, actions), and Board Update reports
  • - Co-ordination of Board-convened subcommittees, including preparation of agendas, minutes, and follow-up activities
  • - Oversight of the development and maintenance of RANZCOG Board policies and statements.
  • Coordination of the following College bodies, including preparation of relevant agendas, minutes and follow-up of action items as necessary:
  • - Professionalism and Ethics Advisory Committee
  • - Standards and Complaints Committee
  • Oversight of College appeals, reviews, independent review requests, and other legal matters including subpoenas
  • Oversight of functions and activities associated with the College Council, including: Council meetings; President’s At Home; Council Forum; and Council Dinner
  • Oversight of RANZCOG governance activities, including: elections; Terms of Reference for committees and working parties; ensuring appropriate College policies and procedures are maintained that comply with legal and governance requirements; Annual General Meeting; and updating of the College Constitution and RANZCOG Regulations, as needed
  • Oversight of committees coordinated by the CEO's Office / Board, including: Progression Review Committee, Honours Committee, New Zealand Affairs Advisory Committee, and Jean Murray Jones Bequest Oversight Committee
  • Regularly review and update work practices in the Office of the President and CEO
The Candidate:
  • Ability to use initiative and foresight to ensure effective workflow
  • Ability to respond quickly and creatively to unexpected and complex work demands and identify necessary regulation and/policy changes required
  • Strong leadership, organisational and administrative skills with particular attention to detail
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and stakeholder engagement ability
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills related to report writing and correspondence
  • A positive and flexible attitude
  • Demonstrated time management skill with the ability to meet deadlines, set priorities and operate independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to record minutes where complex and confidential matters are discussed
  • Resourcefulness and resilience: an approachable and tactful manner
  • Strong decision-making skills
  • Knowledge and aptitude for ICT relevant to the workplace environment e.g. MS Microsoft including Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  
The offer:
The annual salary on offer for this role is up to 126,500k inclusive of super. Offered as a Full time fixed term Maternity cover position.
