What you'll be doing To provide a specialised trauma informed, high quality child protection service to children, young people their families and carers in Western NSW Local Health District where there has been substantiated physical abuse, emotional abuse and or neglect/exposure to domestic violence. Selection Criteria According to discipline: Social Work (Level 3) - A Bachelor degree in Social Work with eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers and knowledge, skills and experience to meet the requirements of the NSW Health Professionals Award Level 2; or Welfare Officer or Counsellor (Level 3) - A Bachelor degree in Social Science, Social Welfare or Counselling, and knowledge, skills and experience to meet the requirements of the NSW Health Professionals Award Level 2; or Senior Psychologist - must have the equivalence of at least 9 years full-time experience as a psychologist and general registration with AHPRA; Clinical Psychologist must have a masters degree or higher in clinical or forensic psychology with general registration with AHPRA and either an area of practice endorsement in Clinical or Forensic Psychology or be eligible to be a Clinical or Forensic Psychology Registrar with AHPRA.Extensive and comprehensive specialist knowledge of contemporary child protection practice relevant to rural/ remote service provision and advanced clinical skills in child and family counselling and therapeutic work.High level communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to document accurately; write proficiently; consult effectively with others; and negotiate and develop collaborative partnerships with a range of stakeholders.Competency in the use of information and communication technology, including standard office software, for email, internet searches, analysis of clinical data, presentations and clinical documentation.Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to working within the principals of primary health care both independently and within a multidisciplinary team framework.The ability to collaborate and work effectively and sensitively with a diverse range of clients, including remote communities and Aboriginal people.Licence to drive in NSW and ability to travel for work purposes.Ability to exercise independent professional judgement and advanced reasoning skills for problem solving and managing complex cases involving expansion, adaptation or modification or principles, procedures and techniques.
