You will provide clinical services of the highest possible standard to diabetes and endocrinology patients of the Southern Adelaide Local Health Network (SALHN), both in terms of individual performance and by contributing to a multidisciplinary approach to the delivery of patient care. Most of the duties will be in outpatient clinics but there will be a small component of covering inpatient duties. You will have an active involvement in teaching medical students and junior medical staff, and contribute to the conduct of research where required. The Southern Adelaide Local Health Network (SALHN) provides care for around 341,000 people living in the Southern Metropolitan area of Adelaide as well as providing a number of state-wide services, and services to those regional areas. More than 7,000 skilled staff provides high quality patient care, education, research and health promoting services.
You will hold a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or an equivalent qualification, and be registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner. Having successfully completed Part 1 of the Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians (FRACP) examination, you will have some clinical experience and competence in the practice of medicine. With a commitment to working as a member of a multidisciplinary team, you will bring the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people including colleagues and other professional staff.
