Joining the State’s largest pathology provider, SA Pathology, you will provide a laboratory and clinical consultative service in the broad field of Immunology. Providing high quality and clinically relevant interpretation of laboratory tests for the management of patients, you will participate in the validation and release of results and the communication of significant results directly to the requesting medical officer. You will give expert advice to medical practitioners on the investigation and management of patients with Immunological diseases and the control of these diseases. Participating in outpatient consultancy services, and where appropriate inpatient management, you will provide a consultative service to SA Pathology branch and regional laboratories. Supervising the training of registrars and trainees, you may contribute to research in areas relevant to clinical or laboratory services. While this position resides within the Immunology Laboratory, you will be expected to provide laboratory and clinical services at any of the campuses serviced by SA Pathology. SA Pathology provides quality diagnostic pathology services to the South Australian community, as well as support for training and medical research, through our state-wide laboratory network. Our 19 laboratories are distributed throughout South Australia’s metropolitan and regional hospitals and are supported by more than 55 conveniently located patient collection centres.

 

You must be registered as a Specialist in both Clinical Immunology and Immunopathology with AHPRA, with combined FRACP and FRCPA qualifications. With experience in the provision of laboratory and clinical services in the field of Human Immunology, you will be proficient in the management of patients with Immunological diseases. Highly organised and capable of setting priorities, you will be skilled in assessing the quality of work performed in a clinical laboratory.
