Employment Type: Permanent Part Time Position Classification: Psychologist Remuneration: $32.59 - $48.44 ph Hours Per Week: 19 Requisition ID: REQ50888 Number of FTE: 0.50 Applications Close: 19 Jul 2018 About the team Specialist Mental Health Services for Older People (SMHSOP) community teams and identified SMHSOP community mental health clinicians perform specialist mental health assessment, care planning and case management services for older people over the age of 65 experiencing mental health problems or severe behavioural and psychological symptoms related to dementia. About the role The position provides clinical functions and outreach services to smaller communities and includes specialist consultation and liaison services across a variety of settings. This position also has a role in hospital admission and discharge processes, and provide consultation / liaison style services to identified SMHSOP consumers during inpatient treatment in either acute medical settings or adult mental health inpatient settings. What you'll be doing The provision of a professional and independent application of evidence-based psychological treatment techniques and assessment procedures to a range of behavioural, emotional, addiction, psychosocial and health problems. This purpose is in order to collaboratively support recovery and quality of life goals. Selection Criteria Registered, or eligible for registration as a Provisional Psychologist or Psychologist with General Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation AgencyDemonstrated effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team.Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritise and organise own work.Demonstrated commitment to evidence based and ethical psychological practice.Understanding of, and capacity to provide; evidence based psychological treatment techniques and assessment procedures appropriate to the client presentations of the service.Demonstrated current clinical knowledge and understanding of contemporary mental health issues in the area of older people’s mental health.Licence to drive in NSW with the ability to drive occasionally for work purposes.
