RNSH Inreach rehabilitation team speech pathologist Employment Type: Temporary Part Time until 02 November 2018 Position Classification: Speech Pathologist Level 3 Remuneration: $48.08 - $49.69 Hours Per Week: 15 Requisition ID: REQ31114 A temporary 0.4FTE locum position exists for a speech pathologist (level 3) to work within the Royal North Shore Hospital Stroke Acute Inreach Rehabilitation Team. The position is based in rehabilitation department at Royal North Shore Hospital and is available until November 2018 The role provides speech pathology rehabilitation programmes to patients in the acute stroke unit. What you'll be doing Provide assistance, support and leadership to the Allied Health (AH) team in the delivery of an efficient and high quality Speech Pathology Service to consumers of NSLHD. The senior clinician acts as a clinical resource for other speech pathologists based at/in their service and is responsible for the assessment, intervention and management of swallowing, communication and voice disorders for consumers within their allocated caseload. Employees must abide by the NSW Health Code of Conduct. Criminal record checks will be undertaken on successful applicants and applicants for positions designated as Category A will be required to obtain required vaccinations prior to commencing employment. Candidates will need to meet the following criteria: Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them. A bachelor or post graduate degree in Speech Pathology and eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia. Evidence of extensive clinical experience, inclusive of experience as a Level 2 Speech Pathologist or equivalent. Evidence of proficient written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with the proven ability to liaise with novice and experienced health professionals and external service providers. Demonstrated computer literacy and ability to use health information systems. Demonstrated ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement activities or service evaluation process. Experience in clinical teaching and supervision of students, level 1/2 Allied Health Professionals and/or Allied Health Assistants. Demonstrated proficient skills and knowledge in the provision of current speech pathology practice. A strong commitment to an evidence-based service to provide for consumers, carers and families requiring assessment, case management, intervention, appropriate referral and discharge planning. Demonstrated proficiency in ability to work autonomously with limited supervision. Have the ability to prioritise work, manage a demanding workload, apply high level reasoning skills and have independent professional judgement. Need more information?
