Mental Health Program
Monash Health Mental Health Services provides a range of community, bed-based and specialist services covering the Casey, Cardinia, Greater Dandenong, Kingston and Monash LGAs – a population of nearly one million. It has an operational budget of $130 million and employs approximately 820 EFT, representing over 1000 staff.
Psychology and Specialist Services (PsySS) in the Mental Health Program runs a number of programs across Monash Health including the Wellness and Recovery Centre. The Monash Health Wellness and Recovery Centre (WRC) Eating Disorder Service is a specialist service operating across Monash Health Campuses. The service offers comprehensive Eating Disorder assessment, diagnosis and evidence-based treatment to individuals affected by Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge eating Disorder, and Other Specified Feeding & Eating Disorder (OSFED).
Services include:
- Adults (18-65yo) Inpatient Treatment
- Adults (18-65yo) Outpatient Treatment
- Butterfly Day Program (12-24yo)
About the Role
The Technical Specialist, Eating Disorders will sit within the Wellness and Recovery Centre, a part of Psychology and Specialist Services. The role is that of an advanced level Registered Nurse/Mental Health Clinician with training, qualifications and experience in assessing and treating patients with eating disorders and severe mental illness. Depending on skills and experience, the role also provides support and consult to the inpatient unit as well as professional and operational supervision of staff. The Technical Specialist, Eating Disorders also plays a key role in the broader eating disorder program with respect to development of the model of care, providing input and consult in to model development. The role will be based at Clayton though will be expected to travel between sites and to other services.
