Retrieval Services Queensland (RSQ) is responsible for the coordination of aeromedical transfers of patients throughout Queensland.

The role  
Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, Retrieval Services Queensland, you will be responsible for the provision of clinical expertise in aiding retrieval coordination of patients in a critical care environment throughout Queensland. Your clinical experience will be an essential requirement in the recognition and management of deteriorating patients; whilst using a flexible and adaptable approach in an unpredictable and pressured environment. The ability to think quickly, creatively and use advanced communication skills when liaising with referring clinicians and multiple contracted aeromedical providers such as Royal Flying Doctor Services will be critical to good patient outcomes.

The successful person
You will have a minimum of five (5) years current or recent clinical experience working in a critical care environment. Demonstrable experience in providing critical care to a broad range of patient types including adult, paediatric, neonatal and obstetrics will be highly desirable.  Your advanced nursing assessment, care planning and problem-solving skills will be highly valued, in addition to your ability to implement and evaluate appropriate clinical care and understand emerging trends in nursing practice.

Registration with Australian Health Practitioners Registration Authority is mandatory.
