This is an exciting opportunity for an Allied Health Assistant (AHA) to be part of the friendly, supportive and highly skilled team at the National Capital Private Hospital.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful applicant would be involved in the treatment of acute inpatients, either individually or in groups, under the supervision of physiotherapists and occupational therapists. The caseload would primarily be on the surgical wards with some opportunity to work in rehabilitation, the medical ward, and in outpatient group settings


The National Capital Private Hospital is a modern, progressive acute medical, surgical and rehabilitation hospital of 135 beds located in the southern suburbs of Canberra. The hospital has 7 operating theatres, an intensive care unit, coronary care unit, day surgery unit, medical/rehabilitation and surgical wards. It is undergoing further expansion in 2018/19


Essential Criteria
  • Completion of, or working towards, a Cert III or IV Allied Health Assistance course
  • Knowledge of physiotherapy and occupational therapy roles
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability and flexibility to work independently as well as in partnership with others
  • Excellent time management skills with demonstrated ability to prioritise workload and offer a high level of patient care
  • Experience in acute care beneficial
