What you'll be doing

The Nurse Manager provides leadership and direction in the organisation ensure the delivery of best practice nursing, individual focused care and the management and organisation of the service.

 

Employees must abide by the NSW Health Code of Conduct. Criminal record checks will be undertaken on successful applicants and applicants for positions designated as Category A will be required to obtain required vaccinations prior to commencing employment. 

 

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them.
  • Current Registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) Registered Nurse Division 1.
  • Extensive post registration clinical experience within the acute care setting with recent experience in senior nursing management positions.
  • Proven leadership qualities and the ability to set priorities, establish and achieve agreed objectives particularly surrounding patient access and clinical innovation related to patient flow processes and KPI achievement.
  • Highly developed communication skills with the ability to use critical thinking skills in problem solving.
  • Effective negotiation and conflict management skills with the ability to motivate staff and maintain effective relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to be innovative, creative, motivational and self directed with workplace projects and clinical innovation which reflect person centred care priorities.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Microsoft Office computer applications, Health Support platforms and the Patient Flow Portal.
