Duties

• To maintain a high standard of cleanliness in resident’s rooms, facility corridors, lounge rooms, administration offices and other areas of the Home.
• Spring cleaning as per cleaning schedule in all areas of the Home.
• To ensure all machinery is operated in a safe and correct manner
• To perform any cleaning task as directed by the DON/CEO, Services Co-ordinator, RNs.
• Clean resident’s individual fridges weekly when rooms are serviced.
• To perform all laundry and.or cleaning duties as per daily tasks schedules.
• Adhere to the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and infection control protocols
• Ensure correct procedure and use of chemicals.

Knowlegde and Experience Required

• Knowledge of and experience in infection control practices pertaining to cleaning and/or laundry
• Knowledge of and experince in manaul handling prctices pertaining to cleaning and/or laundry duties
• Previous experience in commercial laundry operating commercial laundry equipment (e.g commercial washing machines, dryers, sluice machines)
• Previous experience in commercial cleaning role, operating commercial floor cleaning equipment ( e.g commercial floor polishers, all in one mop and dry cleaners)
• Knowledge of or ability to attain knowledge of  Aged Care Residents' Rights.
• Knowledge of or ability to attain knowledge and understanding of continuous Quality Improvement and Aged Care Accreditation Standards.

Essential Requirements

• A current suitable Australian Federal Police Criminal History Check that meets the requirements of the new Aged Care Principles.
• Authority to work win Australia in not an Austrlai Citizen

Highly Desirable

• Certificate II in Cleaning or Laundry Operations e.g Cleaing -  CPP20617 / CPP20611 or equvialent  and/or Laundry MST20416 / LMT 21410 or equivalent
