We are seeking a dynamic and engaging individual who is passionate about supporting staff training and development to join our supportive Learning and Development team. This is an exciting opportunity for either an experienced nurse educator or an experienced clinical nurse looking to transition to an educator role.
Based at our Corporate Services in Malvern, this role is responsible for supporting a designated portfolio of mecwacare’s Residential, Home Care and Disability services. Travel between designated mecwacare service locations will be required during working hours.

Reporting to the Manager Learning and Development, the Nurse Educator works collaboratively to develop and deliver outcomes focused learning for our diverse mix of nursing and care staff. With the Learning and Development team, this role will identify, develop and implement learning solutions and strategies in response to identified trends and learning needs, and adopt a problem-solving approach to overcome barriers and promote enablers to staff learning.
To apply for this role, it is essential you possess the following;
  • Current Registration as a Registered Nurse with the Allied Health Practitioner Regulatory Authority (AHPRA)
  • Sound knowledge of current clinical practices
  • Excellent verbal/written communication, presentation and facilitation skills
  • Well-developed organisational skills and ability to work collaboratively, manage competing initiatives, prioritise and meet deadlines.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Current Victorian Driver’s License and willingness to travel between mecwacare sites as required
  • Applicants with the following will be highly regarded
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
  • Demonstrated knowledge, skills and experience in the planning, development, implementation, facilitation and evaluation of vocational education and training programs, using blended delivery models and adult learning principles
