The Role:
HCA Doctors are currently recruiting an experienced Medical Officer to join our client in providing specialised health and safety services in the NSW coal mining industry. Within this role you will provide a range of occupational medical services in office and work site environment including but not limited to:
  • Occupational health surveillance on workers exposed to hazardous environments
  • Medical Assessments and advice to clients
  • Advice and providing support to management on emerging health issues
  • Implementation of safety measures as required by WH&S Committee and Regional Manager
  • Maintain high standard of quality and accurate clinical documentation
  • Liaise with customers and clients on appropriate health matters

The location:
This role will be based in the Central West town of Mudgee in New South Wales. This town has developed as a wine producing region and has become a major part of its economy. It is also heavily dependent on several major mines in the area and the region has other regional produce that includes cattle, sheet, olives and dairy products. This region is also home to over 50 well known vineyards and wineries that provide a wide range of speciality boutique red and white wines, many with cellar door and wine tastings available for you to enjoy on your weekend. In addition to this your weekends and holidays can be spent exploring the undulating hills on the western side of the great dividing range with spectacular scenery which is well worth the day trip. There are many popular swimming, bushwalking and camping areas for you and the family to enjoy.
  
  
Position requirements:
  • Current AHPRA registration as a GP
  • Minimum of 4 years post graduate relevant experience
  • Experience working in occupational health (desirable)
  • Knowledge of relevant occupational health (desirable)
  • Current registration to perform rail medicals (desirable)
  • Proven understanding of the relevant coal industry Acts and Regulations in the performance of statutory medical (or ability to obtain)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated and team orientated
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers
